For many reasons September is my unofficial new year. As a teacher it is a time to start fresh with a new class and new supplies. Just like my students, I get new clothes, new shoes and always a new bag to start the new year off right! September is also my birthday month so it's fitting that I unofficially start my new year now.
This past year I have seen myself grow in ways I never thought possible. It's funny how we put limitations on all we can do without even trying. I really believe this year I am going to step out in faith more than ever. So this is my time to reflect like so many of us do at the beginning of a new year. Who says I have to wait for January 1st?
I think we all need to have a time to recharge our batteries and start fresh with new goals and new beginnings. Or maybe you just feel the need to get a make-over mentally and/or physically. What ever it is ....just do it now! Like they say there is no time like the present!!
I challenge you to think of all the New Year's resolutions you have on hold waiting to announce to the world in January and start them right now. Whether it is finding a new job, going back to school, living a healthier lifestyle, etc. etc. What is the real reason you are waiting?
So come on let's all start our New Year's now! Ready....10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1....HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

I love this post and I too start my New Year in September! I think it's the "teacher" in me. I love fall and it always makes me think of fresh air like a fresh start. One of my goals this year is to make more memories with my kids (19 & 14), no excuses about time, money, etc. Although they are older I feel a need to keep that sense of family strong.
This year, I resolve to step out of my comfort zone a little more because it has always taken me to great places when i've done so. I'm excited to see where it'll take me this year.
